Chinese E-Learning Project

Project Background

More and more people are learning Chinese online today.
Yet the critical factor of the online learning, is as the same as in any traditional class.
That is the interactions between learners and teachers, as well as the interactions among learners.

Because education is fundamentally a process of communication.

Personal learning environment is greatly changed with wiki, twitter, delicious, slideshare…
A new effective online Chinese learning model is the solution of many leaners and teachers. In this model, interactions are as free as in real classroom; learning is active, creative and personalized, and will integrate with every aspects of life.

Project Overview

This Chinese E-learning Project is a part of an academic research which studies the easy and effective online chinese teaching model in web 2.0. The model used in this project is the outcome of marketing analysis, acdemic research and university teachers’ group wisdom.

The project provides 6-week free online Chinese language training services to participants including virtual class, customized learning solutions, process based evaluations, and chances of creative collaboration with peers and facilitated real life communications in target language.

The project intends to develop the effective online Chinese teaching model which could be used in many areas such as business chinese training, college tutoring, culture training, etc.

Project Objectives

Participants’Chinese language ability will achieve the same level with (or even higher level than) people who take traditional class with same cost of time in small group class in beijing’s colleges.

Participants will benefit from this project in terms of active learning, collaborative learning, and creative learning. Their personal learning environments will be improved due to the project.

Participants will have a good learning foundation including a good learning strategy which will help them in their future Chinese language learning.

Features of the model used in this project

Learners centered–It doesn’t only mean the layout of the chart, but also a greater emphasis on active learning, with creation, communication and participation playing key roles, and on changing roles for the teacher.

Interaction focused–It’s unwise to learn a foreign language with few personal interactions. Virtual classroom provides free and complete communications between teachers and learners. In a sense, it’s even more than traditional classroom for the whiteboard is collaborative.

Sharing, communication, collaboration, participation valued–The ideas of web2.0 are exactly the ideas of foreign language learning. Through collaboration with peers, knowledge is gradually “constucted” other than “taught”.

Overall Learning Service provided–Learning consultancy, learning process documents tracking, real life communication assistant, process-based evaluations, and technical support…The aim is to enable your learning anytime, and anywhere.

Learning is creative and fun. –The dream shared by learners and teachers, will come true here.
